Refer a Friend & Loyalty Points: Three Ways to Pay Less for Your eSIM
eSIM Tripwise · 7/29/2026

A travel eSIM already costs far less than roaming or renting a SIM at the airport. But you can pay less still — using things that may already be sitting in your account.
TripWise runs three separate programmes. This post explains each one, and more importantly, how they differ.
1. Loyalty points — automatic, nothing to sign up for
This is the easiest one, because you don't have to do anything.
- Every completed order (once your eSIM is delivered) earns points automatically.
- 1 point = 1,000₫ off your next order.
- Redeem whenever you like, and stack them with promo codes.
In practice, your second trip always costs a little less than your first. For someone travelling three or four times a year, that adds up.

2. Refer a friend — both sides win
Your account contains a personal referral link. When you send it to someone:
- They get 50,000₫ off their first eSIM.
- You earn store credit once their order completes.
- There's no cap on how many people you invite.
The nice part is that you never have to "sell" anything. When someone in a group chat asks "what do you do about data in Japan?", you just drop the link — they save money, and so do you.
Grab your link under Refer a friend.
3. Affiliate — for people with an audience
This one is fundamentally different from referrals, and the two are often confused.
| Refer a friend | Affiliate | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it's for | Individual customers | Partners with an audience |
| What you get | eSIM credit | Cash, by bank transfer |
| Application needed? | No, just an account | Yes, reviewed |
| Best when | Sharing with friends | Blog, channel, community, agency |
If you run a travel blog, a video channel, a student group or a tour company, affiliate is the one you want — it pays real money rather than credit.

Can you use all three?
Yes, and they don't cancel each other out:
- Loyalty points apply automatically to every customer, affiliates included.
- Referrals are open to anyone with a free account.
- Affiliate is a separate partner programme you apply for.
Being a frequent customer (earning points), an occasional referrer (earning credit) and a blogger (earning commission) at the same time is completely normal.
Being straight about the value
We're not going to promise life-changing income. For most individual customers, these programmes meaningfully reduce what connectivity costs on future trips — they aren't a salary.
For people who genuinely have an audience, the affiliate programme is the one that produces meaningful earnings.
